Hello, I been wet shaving now for about 5 years. I tried so many different creams, brushes, combinations of the two, different blades (astra's work best for me in all my razors) but I get the best shave with less nicks and cuts using barbasol. I know that is taboo and really wish i got a better shave with the nicer products out there.
if I use CO Bigelow for example, my whole neck is dotted with the red specks of blood. use barbasol, its much better. I am getting good lathers etc and feels slick but just not getting the protection I need to help with the nicks. If I use my fat boy or slim for example I have to dial it down to a 3 or so but then I am not getting a close shave at all. I have a thick beard and sensitive skin, bad combo.
part of the experience in wet shaving as you know is the brush and lather and I am not getting that enjoyment. Yes I am saving time and money using a can but it just works so well for me. I guess I can still use my brush to apply it but just bummed I am not getting the results i wanted.
anyone else out there having good results with a can.
on a side note, ordered an NOS schick krona razor that is on the way.
