A ? about the B&B Essential Boar

Hi Guys.A few weeks ago,I purchased the smoke colored B&B essential. So far,I love it.As I went on a brush shopping spree recently,I haven't gotten it fully broken in yet, which leads to me query.
The first few times I used it,the bristles were super soft, almost like it wouldn't need broken in.The last two times I used it,however,it was a little scritchy.I now own several boars, but other than a VDH that I've had for well over a year, they're all relatively new.Is it normal for this brush (or any boar) to have a change in consistency when it comes to scritchiness? Will it get softer again?

It will get softer. You may find that after use and drying it feels more stiff and prickerly than when new. All normal. After two weeks use mine is starting to soften up niceley. Its had one day off in that time.

It should continue to get softer. It may be that there is soap or mineral residue in the brush (if you have hard water or don't do a really thorough rinse), stiffening the bristles a bit.

As everyone else said it will continue to get softer. Don't give up on it; it's a great little brush.

Thanks for the replies, fellas.I guess mine will just take a little longer to break in I guess,as I'm rotating between it,a Pro48, a Big Pro,and an Omega silvertip.

Yeah,I caught a case of SBAD recently.Still want to get a best badger, and possibly another Boar.

It will get softer. Just curious, do you soak the bristles in hot water for a few minutes before using it? If not, try that. It softens the whole brush.

SNAG... Situation normal, all good. Just keep using it and watch what happens after 10-15 use cycles. The tips will continue softening and splitting. My blue B&BEB is great (used it today). I have noticed that the Omega knot is very dense and hasn't splayed near as much as my Semogues have with the same amount of use.
