What I thought was a head/chest cold turned out to be pneumonia. After two weeks, I am feeling good again.
Last year, Decemboar helped me appreciate how enjoyable it is to use a boar brush. Today's combo was great. I give it a score of 9.6479.

I’ve tried a couple of razors and blades over the past few days, today I returned to the best: my early postwar Tech and Feather (shave 275). I remember some advice and used my tongue to stretch my chin. For the first time ever I was able to go ATG on the chin, and for the first time in a couple of years I got a BBS! Two passes on the cheeks, three on the chin and a slick touch up. 9.95 / 10.

I fear that I have to declare myself warder. I have seen a couple of early packages arrive that will serve as gifts towards me on future occasions, including my birthday. They are shave related (And I am super excited about them) and I noticed one of the packages to carry an item that my family could not have possibly come up with on their own.
So there must be some form of hinting or asking involved on my part. This is of course a violation of our code. I want to therefore take the gentlemanly road and declare myself out.

Back to the usual shaving load out, this cream is hard to beat. Its just so soft and easy to work with. I'd like to go back and retry some of the creams from my earlier years just to compare... so many creams and so little time. Ah well.
Looking at maggard knots for the contributer brush... the shd 2 band seems get good reviews here.

There are always grey areas I think. I made a list during my months in GRUYERE of things I might want down the line. The gifts are from that list. The list is on my desk in my organizer - not publicly accessible (well the LOTH had access all areas obviously). I think inadvertently I may have blurped something out here and there. It’s ok. It was indeed a good run and Stan already granted me training wheels when changing my exception. I will do 364/365 to the best of my abilities.
This GRUYERE has been very informative to my spending habits and my view of my collections has totally changed as a result. I want to spend the rest of the year focusing on improving technique with what I have rather than what I can or need to get to achieve that. A happy camper over here!
And I salute all that are still in as prisoner!!

Most of the stuff was bought scent unseen. I hadn't tried it out most of the scents. Sandpiper from Sterling is, for me, a top 5 scent. The revenge will continue and I will definitely end up getting sterling's EDT of sandpiper.

Update on my Badger brush which fell apart a few weeks ago: I repaired it with JB Weld Marine Epoxy. It is holding together well and it’s a great relief to have my main brush back in service. The repair was fairly simple, although I didn’t follow the step carefully enough about not using too much epoxy. It came out with a white ring around the base. I spent an hour carefully scraping some out, now it is barely noticeable at most points. Scraping, though, was at the expense of around 25 bristles. I will hold off on buying the lettering restoration materials since that would be a violation of GRUME.

Well once again the discontinuation of a classic soap/cream got me. When word that LaToja would no longer be produced got to me I realized I only had one stick left. That has been remedied and I must reveal myself to be a warder.
I had not heard LaToja was stopping production. I've never tried the soap or cream but love the splash. Luckily I have a few bac ups of the splash.
