Hi,

Late joiners: Yes, I'm good with it this year since I was Mr Molasses getting it started.

I'd say, all one has to be able to say is: I haven't bought a thing since January 1st during the month of January and so join up.

Since I don't wanna be a Tin-Plated Razor Dictator, anyone else have another idea on this?

And, as usual, folk On Leave from last year always have the first two weeks to re-up. And so if we're going with the entire month, they get that benefit as well.

I bought a bottle of witch hazel, then chose witch hazel as my exception too, as my daughter also uses it and makes the rate of consumption less predictable than when it was just me using it.

She also uses my Lucky Tiger though, and it was conceivable that between us we could run out of that. I couldn’t restock it before the New Year so I made Lucky Tiger my exception and bought a second bottle of witch hazel.

For everything else (tallow based soaps included ) I have an ample supply.

The new year snuck up on me so we'll see how far I get without having stocked up. I should already have enough stuff to make it.

For me it was a 100-pack of Sharp 7am Super Platinum blades and a big bottle of hyaluronic acid. I wish I'd picked up more witch hazel, but the bottle I have is almost full, so I should be okay.

The Charcoal Goods thread convinced me to buy a Level 2 even though I thought my RAD was getting under control. Other than thought I bought 3 bottles of Thayer's WH. I typically use it as needed, but I stocked up for this challenge. I also received my order of Bump Patrol, but it was only 4 oz and I misremembered ordering more so that may be a bit of an issue. I don't have aspirin on hand to make more. I suppose I will have to just learn to shave where I can get by without it, which is my goal anyway.

And we are at 50 . My haul to get me through the year, even though I probably needed nothing besides a new bottle of Myrsol that I finished in December.

2 containers of Proraso green soap
1 puck of AE new Coconut beer soap
1 pack of Kai mild artist club blades
1 pack of Schick proline blades
12 Fusion cartridge blades for traveling

I have a ton of other soaps and DE blades, but here lately I’ve been using my Vector more and more that I got from the BST and had yet to try any blades besides Feather. I’m going to try and track my shaves and see what I actually go through to set up for future yeas also. As a new head shaver I figure I’ll use more soap and more blades, but we shall see.

I didn’t even remotely need anything, but picked up a couple MWF pucks, a jar of MdC, and tube of LaToja. I’ll probably be selling some stuff in the BST to get back under a five year supply!

I got an extra pack of Feather Super Professional blades 10 days ago, if that counts as "last minute". Unfortunately, they aren't always in stock locally and I don't want to run out as I'm only using my DX these days. I have 9 blades left in my other pack, plus the one I'm currently using (with 40 shaves or so). I will probably not need the extra pack this year, but I might have been tempted to buy another one, had I not made the purchase.

I almost never end up with pink lather when I shave with one of my DE razors, maybe a tiny nick every now and then, but that's it.

My final purchase before 2021 ended was a styptic pencil though. One of my goals for 2022 is to learn properly how to shave with a foldable Feather Artist Club SS. As you can imagine from my final purchase I'm awaiting some kind of steep learning curve...
