I actually disliked this scent when I first got it. I find in the summer's heat, it can smell a bit acrid. In cooler weather, though, this stuff is a winner. Very strongly perfumed with neroli (orange blossom), with a very interesting dry down featuring some amber and musk notes. There are also some nice zesty tones dancing around - quite complex and nice. This one wouldn't offend anyone.
This was one of those "love at first scent" fragrances for me. I just love anything sandalwood, and I own many different colognes, soaps, and creams in this scent. It starts out a bit sweet, but dries down into something dryer and perhaps a bit "powdery". It is never overpowering, and sticks around a long time. This is probably my favorite sandalwood cologne, and it is reasonably priced at $40 per 100mL. Since it is also available in a bodywash and aftershave balm (both excellent...
First - let me say, the reason price is not involved in this review is the screaming deal I snagged on this bottle from QED.... $33 friggin dollars. Grab one while you can. Now - onto the review. First.... let me say thank you to Trumpers for packaging this cologne in the manner they do. What a delightful experience to behold - opening and storing this scent! Just a beautiful box, gorgeous bottle, neat crown stopper - you get the deal (note - notice the plastic wrapping around the...
After all the vetiver talk, I decided to pick up a bottle of the L'Occitane version. This is my first ever experience with Vetyver scents, so I wasn't sure what to expect. In a nutshell, I am very impressed. Colognes, for me, fall into a few different categories. There is the "I am a cologne, and I smell nice" category (Taylor, C-M, ...). Then there is the "I smell intensely of the elements I consist of (Penhaligon's, ...). Lastly, there is the category of fragrances that evoke a mood, a...

Sorry about the dark pics - I am still getting used to this new camera. Basically my sniffer is not over impressed with this cologne. Don't get me wrong, it is fine stuff - but it never really "grabbed me" like Penhaligon's, B&B, Taylor Mr. Taylor, Trumper Spanish LEather, Castle Forbes 1445, etc etc. I have had this cologne for about 2 weeks now, and have used it several times, and it never really stood out. I found it a bit powdery, and not to "grassy" like I expected. Not bad - but...
I found this cologne to be surprisingly nice. Others had mentioned a "fake" smell to it, and that it smelled as if it were synthetic.... I did not get that impression at all. I found it to have a very nice, warm mysore sandalwood scent, with quite a bit of lasting power. I could imagine how if one overapplied this cologne, it might be lethal - but used in moderation, it is quite nice. The MAIN gripe of this cologne is its miserably cheap/shotty stomizer. For a roughly $70 cologne - I am...
Penhaligons is without question my favorite cologne house.... every scent of theirs I have smelled has been simply divine, but Hammam Boquet takes it even one step further. Pure..... liquid.... happiness. Whoever said you can't buy happiness... can go pound sand as far as I am concerned  If you like Rose....and you like Lavender... and you like women... then you'll LOVE this cologne. Talk about a drop dead show stopper - this Hammam Boquet is so classy, so elegant, so fresh...
