I know what you mean, we have 5 large rescue dogs in the house and they're all going nuts. And this is just the 3rd. :07:

One day I'm going to work up the courage to straighten some teeth, but so far all mine seem to shave fine as they are, so I don't want to risk any yet.
If the tooth is bent side-to-side, it's only aesthetics. The shave will be just as good as with straight teeth. Bent down teeth really affect the shave.

I love razors with patina and battle scars, but am bugged by lack of symmetry and bent teeth. Sometimes when you get lemons, you make lemonade (see below). Still shaves the same.
Wow, you guys all have such nice look NEWs!!!! I feel a little inadequate here...
Your razor looks great. Here's one of my other NEW RFBs that will never win a beauty pageant

Thanks Adam, my thoughts on the LC, very smooth, and efficient. Easy to find the right angle . Got a great BBS with almost no irritation, just on spot on my neck. However I always seem to get irritation in that spot. I have feeling this razor will bring many great shaves this month.
I have that same spot!
Today is not a shaving day. But I thought I would share today's "NEW" activities. I am going to the National Boy Scout Jamboree for two weeks in West Virginia, where I will be working at the shooting range. I leave on the 15th. I camp quite often, and for weeks at a time, but this will provide unique and challenging shaving opportunities. There will be upwards of 30,000 people camping at this jamboree, and amenities will be limited. So I want to make my shaving experience special as well.

Since this is NEW month, I rummaged through my box of "unprocessed" razors to see what NEWs I might have hiding in there. I am an avid flea market razor hunter, so I have a couple of dozen razors that have not made it through the cleaning and categorizing process. Of course I found two NEW LCs in there that were suitable candidates for the jamboree. I picked the better one, and began to prep it for a few test shaves before I depart.

I am very happy with how this one came out. My only regret is that I did not take a "before" photo. A couple of hours in hot water and Dawn, followed by a rigorous scrubbing. Then about 30 minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner, interspersed with more scrubbing. It came out great.

I will be housing this razor in a "Pelican Mints" altoids style tin. I printed the inner part on my 3D printer. It fits the NEW perfectly. I will give it a test shave tomorrow. If it pleases me, it will be my Jambo razor. I cant see why it wouldnt.

That looks great. My son is in Scouts! Maybe we'll cross paths someday!
I used my Short Comb with the Schick blade again. This time with Mama Bear's Lemon Ice and Avon Tai Winds.

Very nice, Troy
I think I'll try to join in this month, even though I'm really enjoying the Senator and the Goodwill #164 that I found last week.

I think I have just about every combination covered here. I have Long Combs, Short Combs, Common Bar, Short Common Bar, Thin Common Bar, and Ball End handles. I'm not sure how acceptable these are but I also have a Goodwill #160, Goodwill Special #175, and a NEW Improved.

I think I will start it off with the Tuckaway, it has a Shot Comb head and Short Common Bar handle.

I think you are close enough with your Goodwills. It's entirely up to you. I think they are a different razor, but I sure love seeing them!

Look at you with the 10th Anniversary Brush! Nice work.
Great photos and descriptions Gentlemen.
Todays shave was with my saddest NEW. Bent teeth, scratches and not plating, he is just ugly. I call him Scruffy and he is in my rotation of regular used razors. When you use a NEW, looks do not dictate the shave quality. BBS & AGAIG.

Looks good from my house!
I normally shave right before I go to bed, but tonight I couldn't wait. I decided to use the Tuckaway that I found when my wife and I went to Eureka Springs last week. It was a great shave just like I expected it to be.

I love a bit of sentiment in my shave. I have a NI that we found in NY that I cherish.
This thread inspired me to repair a two-piece NEW RFB that I bought a year ago for about $8 on eBay. It actually went unsold the first time, and I was the only bidder when the Seller relisted.

All four corner teeth were seriously bent both downwards and inwards.

After a few cycles of annealing, cooling and bending, I got to a point I was happy with. A light shine with some Nevr-Dull and here it is.

I shaved with it today using some RazoRock Mudder Focker and a Wizanet Super Iridium with about 30 shaves on it, and or had no trouble shaving off a 9 day mustache and goatee. Beautifully smooth like my other RFBs.
Looks good, RudyT!
A new to me NEW LC with thin bar handle. The razor is in great condition, barring most of the plating loss.

Happy Fourth to you too and everyone! You are welcome and it's no trouble. It's you guys that should be thanked; So, thank you!

Very cool look!

For the Month with the NEW, Walter got the call this morning and did an admirable job leaving me AGAIG. Of course he had some great helpers with the Omega whipping up some great Fat lather, and the Sputnik shearing through whiskers with ease.
Walter got his name from the name engraved on the leather zippered travel case, "Walter Rosenberg". This is the razor that opened the rabbit hole for my RAD. It was my first vintage razor and was never used when I recieved it from @mountainsea in a PIF. The cardboard insert was between the head and the base plate, and two new Gillette blues waiting to be used. The gold plating is also immaculate, and it shines brings brightly. Thank you again @mountainsea.
Have a great 4th of July to all who live in the USA. Have a blessed day gentlemen.

Today's shave, a Canadian Long Comb NEW replated in nickel by Chris Evatt. Tabac soap applied with a Plisson synth. Nivea for Men Sensitive Skin After Shave Balm followed up by Tabac cologne. Happy Fourth of July to our American neighbors.

Jul 5: Gillette NEW Deluxe

Lather: RazoRock Mudder Focker
Brush: Omega B&B Essential Boar (22/52mm)
Razor: Gillette NEW Deluxe (15mm)
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium Extra Stainless [30]
Balm: Proraso White Crema Dopo Barba

Today's shave was with my favorite NEW, the 15mm NEW Deluxe. I've been struggling with finding the perfect handle for it since I can't stand the stock common bar handle (too smooth). I've tried the Maggard MR1 stainless handle and the Star solid brass handle, but didn't like them because they made the razor feel unbalanced. I think I've settled on the fat Tech handle; one of the best Gillette ever made.

The shave was fantastic as usual. Smooth and ultra-efficient, arguably the most aggressive razor Gillette ever made. Too bad they only made it for two years; serial number means it was made in 1930, and no serial number means 1935.

I hope everyone had a great 4th. I didn't have a chance to post my shave yesterday. So here it is. I gave my Boy Scout Jamboree NEW LC a test drive. Loaded a fresh Astra SP. And whipped up a nice lather with some Carey Sage soap made by my fellow scouter buddy Chad. Seemed appropriate. This beater NEW shaved perfectly. It's a keeper, and will be my jamboree razor. The soap was fabulous. My friend is getting really good at soap making. I'll break out some British NEWs for the rest of the week.

Once again I have learned something "by accident" thanks to the safety razor of the month. I have had a NEW LC and SC for quite a while now. I always thought the stock handles looked like toys so I used heavy modern handles on them. I wasn't really thrilled with the shave. After seeing so many members show off their razors with stock handles I figured "what the heck, I'll use one."
I used a NEW SC yesterday with a fat handle. Great shave! I tried it again today just to see if yesterday was a fluke. Another great shave. Good balance and an amazing amount of control.
Obviously there was a reason for the handles being the way they were.
I have many "modern" razors yet the 80+ year old $8.00 NEW puts most of them to shame.
Thanks guys!

Not really what I consider a NEW, today I used one of my New Improved razors, this one from 1921

Between all the nice NEWs and @rudyt 's nice reply to me, I was inspired to put a few minutes effort into polishing up the head on my NEW LC. I cleaned it really well, and knowing it was clean, wasn't too worried about making it shiny. But a toothbrush with a dab of Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish, followed up with a good Dawn scrub/rinse, really did wonders for the base and cap:

This morning's shave:
NEW LC on Tech Ball End handle
Personna Red blade (3)
Rooney Pure Badger
Cella
The Veg!!!

I'm really starting to appreciate all the buzz around here about the NEWs. My wife and I are going to try a few new (to us) antique stores this weekend, so maybe I can find a nice looking SC this weekend.
