Wow Ian thats gorgeous!!

Wow! That's gorgeous! Bet she shaves beautifully as well. Congratulations!

A very, very lovely razor.

Thank you Dean, Alan, & Richard.
It sure is I was shocked when I opened the package, as it was listed as bone scales and there is very little pitting only round the pivot pin. But I don't think it has seen a hone at all..... so In all very happy with it.......

With my birthday coming up in a few days, wife gave me some money and said "buy yourself something nice.

This will be my first Henckels.
Looking forward to it arriving.

Happy Birthday Doug!!! That is one beautiful razor :001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1:

Ha, we'd make a good team. I remember about as much as you do. :001_cool:

Here's a close up of the tang. I just noticed that it has England on it so that would probably put it after 1890.

Here you go Mike on your beautiful razor:001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1:
But yours has England so it puts it after 1890 the time of Queen Victoria

Great, thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Not as nice as yours but here's a picture I just took after a little cleaning. It has a few dark spots but no pits and the engraving is still pretty deep.

Joseph must have been a popular name in the 1800. I have a Joseph Smith & Sons, a Joseph Allen & Son, a Joseph Wostenholm & Sons, a Joseph Elliott, and now I have a Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers to Their Majesties. On the blade it says The Rodgers.

What would be the time frame for this one? Mid 1800 to 1891?

The razor have England in a half circle on the tang indicating trade markings. This razors is most likely late 18th or early 19th century, leaning towards the later. Either way they are fantastic shavers. i used a JR near wedge a week ago and really liked it.

Today was a good day at the flea market. I only had a couple of minutes so I went straight to my favorite vendor's booth. Actually he has his own room in the back of the building.

He had just brought in about 12 razors and a strop and I left with 6 of them and the strop.

There's a couple that I left that I've been thinking about so I'll probably be going back for them tomorrow or Friday. Here's what I picked up today.

Congratulations on the 133 Red Imp. Would not mind having the 132 wedge

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. According to the chart, it looks like 1891 to 1901. That's a pretty small window for a straight razor.

Just picked this up for quite a deal and put an edge on it. Friodur 50 1/2. The spine wear was a little uneven, but I was able to do a little work and get it honed up. Another great shaver for the collection.
P.S. There seems to be a slightly raised rectangle on the scales. Does anyone know what this might be? Was there another logo or something? It's strange to me.
