What's new

Won all three of these for $26. Are they worth anything if I clean them up?

Is it worth $26 to you. That's ALL that matters.

Clean em' up and then decide how you feel about them....just my suggestion.....Welcome to BB.

BTW, J4 is A GREAT DATE!!...just my opinion....:001_tt2:

Thank you for the welcome :). And I actually already have an adjustable from an earlier year but saw this lot of three that included an adjustable for cheaper than what I paid for mine so I thought maybe there's some profit to be made from it. I'm not sure if that was a logical move yet or not, lol.

If holding these beauties makes you happy then it was worth it. The one razor does have an issue with the plating but you should still be able to get some good years of use out of it before it is too much of an issue.

Thank you for the response. These razors are definitely beautiful and although keeping them and using them is an option, it just doesn't seem ideal to me at the moment. I have a 1962 H2 Slim Adjustable that is in much better condition than the J4 but I don't know if there's any difference in the way it shaves or not. And as for the plating, I'm assuming the J4 is the one you're speaking of and not the GEM's?

Nice pick up. The prices seem pretty reasonable but it you're looking to resell I wouldn't expect a huge profit. If you're looking to use, as long as you pay your bills there's nothing wrong with spending $25 for something that makes you happy regardless of its value to someone else.

I wouldn't have paid that much for them, even locally.

As for asking if they are worth it, that up to you and should not really be a forum questions...especially since you have said you plan on flipping them.

7. B&B is not an appraisal site. As such, asking values here isn't acceptable behavior. All B&B members, asking and answering, new or old, should be aware that B&B is a community of users, and not an appraisal or identification service for lazy individuals to optimize their sales without having to invest in the B&B community beyond an odd post here and there asking for info.

Ah, woops. I wish I saw that before posting this thread. Sorry about that.

no worries, people post these daily and sometimes they are innocent and sometimes they appear to be fishing to see what stuff is worth.

I don't believe you set out to see what they were worth so you could sell, but if you ask me, it's best to not ask what a used razor is worth.

I usually find past sales on the BST and SOLD ebay auctions the best way to judge the value of something.

There should not be any difference in performance b/w the 1962 and 1964 Slims.

The GEM razors are both terrific. Very aggressive, especially the OCMM (silver one). Pick up some GEM blades in your local CVS and give them a try.
