Also...anyone who's a Star Trek fan, like me, Star Trek The Wrath of Khan. Arguably the best Star Trek movie made.

Can't pick just one...
Many have been posted, but some of my faves:
The Breakfast Club
Star Wars ESB and ROTJ
War Games
Pretty in Pink
Bladerunner
Eddie Murphy Raw
Logan's Run
Repo Man
Red Dawn
Flash Gordon

And so much Mel Gibson goodness
Attack Force Z (w/Sam Neill, Philip Jude Law)
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and Beyond the Thunderdome (Tina Turner was way over the top, and she brought it down a bit)
Lethal Weapon and Lethal Weapon 2
Tequila Sunrise
Gallipoli

The Troma Entertainment movies. Toxic Avenger!! Total schlock, but great!

Agreed. I hated when JJ Abrams (aka franchise killer) decided to redo it.

In a nod to Ricardo, the pods the genetically modified people were in were upholstered in rich, corinthian leather

In other news, it seems that the Nauga is still endangered due to the use of naugahyde in the automotive and furniture world, and they are asking that people help by adopting a Nauga.... Adopt a Nauga

Logan's run was in the 80's? Must have been 1980 . . . could have sworn that was a 70's flick.

It's also another film that would benefit from a reboot, I think.

You are correct.. '76..
I thought it was an '80's because I saw it on HBO in like '82. My dad sent me out of the room when they were going through the cryo-like facility and all the women were topless...

I don't have a funny description.
The 80-ies were a good time for Hollywood IMO. A good decade for a lot of very talented actors. A lot of great movies to chose from, I can't even decide which one is my favorite.
