I've seen "where do you live" threads, but how about elevation? My house sits at 4701 feet. Looking out my window today, it looks like the rain turns to snow at about 5000 feet.

***Choice 1 should read "Below Sea Level to 500 ft."***

For Metric users, multiply meters x 3.28 for feet or convert here.

I just used Google Earth to look up every place I've ever lived. The lowest was 2213 ft. and the highest was 6215.

6100' where I sit.

I lived at about 300' until I was 20 YOA then moved to Wyoming. I have been at 6000 to 7200 for the past 36 years.

I've never understood why we use "Sea Level" as a standard of measurement, when the sea is not level. It constantly moves up and down, in and out with the tides. So how do you establish where to start measuring from?

My area had a power outage and I just got on. Add me to SteveWY. I live at 7120 feet according to a highway marker at my fence. I guess I'm too late to vote.

HaHa! I was wondering when you would wander down from the nosebleed section and post!

P.S. I heard all of northern fremont County got hammered with wet snow and outages.

I'm not sure. Halfway between high tide and low tide, I'd guess. That brings up the interesting matter of calculating the size and boundaries of waterfront property.
