What's new

What TV series you watching?

West world. If you make it to the end of the first episode you’ll be hooked.
I need to get back to this one, watched through the first season pretty quickly but never came back to it... adding to the list now.

We’ve just started watching The Good Fight and really like it. Spinoff of The Good Wife which we enjoyed a lot.

"Atomic Age Declassified" on Smithsonian Channel. As a boomer born right after WW2, I found this 3-part mini-series fascinating. Ep1 covered development & dropping of the bomb, Ep 2 the space race, but my favorite was Ep #3, "Filming of the Bomb". I hope they do more.

Re-watching "Neon Genesis Evangelion" on Netflix. I prefer watching it with Japanese soundtrack and English subtitles.

Normally I find anime about "high school kids operating mechs" really boring, but this one's an exception.

"Scott & Bailey" - I liked Suranne Jones on "Gentleman Jack", so I gave this a try.

... (Bakula/Blalock) "Enterprise." Started the latest ST franchise; couldn't stand it! Hadn't binged on this older one ... it's second only to "ST: The Next Generation."
When "Enterprise" first ran I tried to like it but got lost with the time travel plot lines over several seasons, and gave up on it. Binging it was much better. I liked all the characters except Archer.

I just started watching Chernobyl... on a related note, I also just finished watching it too (apparently it really was binge-worthy) :001_smile

I’m not a fan
We watched season 3 of Stranger Things this weekend and really enjoyed it. One of the remarkable things about this series, especially S3, is the attention to detail with getting the '80's vibe right. Some of the sets were amazing as well as the hair/makeup and wardrobe.

Started The Loudest Voice on Showtime. Like it a lot so far

Just started Stranger Things. I am undecided so far. I think I remember feeling the same way when I first started season 1.

Watched an episode of Euphoria. Not loving it so far, but it may pick up, too.

Just finished season 2 of "Black Spot" on Netflix. It has a touch of David Lynch in its portrayal of a remote French area. Next up is Babylon Berlin, followed by the second season of "Dark". It is going to take some time but so far BB is enjoyable. Given the period of time in which BB is set, it has prompted me to pull out Fassbinder's "Berlin Alexanderplatz". So that may get slipped in before Dark. If it does, it may take me months to revisit Dark's second season.

Re-bingeing on "Babylon Berlin." It is the sort of series that reveals itself in new and subtle ways with each re-viewing.

Euphoria. Yikes! Disturbing. Arguably, David Lynch-like. Also, I can now say that I remembered when HBO drifted into real porn.
