Quest for a better shave

Lord L5 / Bic chrome (1)

Where there's a will, there's a way!

I decided to make the L5 work, given that I like its architecture. Today I put 2 shims under the blade. Comfortable, smooth, close shave. My usual 1 and 3/4 passes resulted in a DFS+

I read that it is a Tech model clone. Now I understand that there is many variations, but were the original this smooth? Are there any faithful modern reproductions?

There is a modern Tech, made by P&G. It is for the Chinese market only. Manufactured in Gillette Shanghai. It's a real 70s Tech head. Called Gillette Super Blue.
