Thanks for the heads up, I am looking forward to the stainless steel version, the color definitely matches my other razors better, the DLC looked cool but was a slight turn off to be due to the color...

Thanks indeed for the heads-up. I wanted an "ARC" but that's just suggestibility and having read Leisureguy's book. Since reading these forums, it seems the coatings sometimes were problematic; I bet all stainless is just fine!

Thank goodness. i am not sure about you lads, but the DLC is the smoothest shaver that i have tried. It is much smoother and less aggressive than the ARC. Did any of you find this to be true? Also, i have noticed that there is a difference between even some of the DLCs. i have one that requires two shims compared to another that only requires one!
Good to hear Ed is still going to make them.

Just ordered. I am a sucker for the Weber razors. I have a feeling this one will be my favorite. I just haven't been sold on the coatings over stainless steel.

I also placed an order for one. I have been checking the Weber site daily waiting for them to get the new batch of razors in stock. I was a little caught off guard when it didn't have a DLC head but I guess having an all stainless steel razor with no coatings at all is just one less thing to worry about. I can't wait to get it and will be sure to post a first impression writeup with lots of pictures.

Not sure if this weber and bulldog combo or the Titan H1
Would dethrone my current champion....ejde89 with ikon bulldog II handle.




I know that I will probably buy them all and end up selling the ones that aren't as good.

Hmmm...Interesting. I wonder if this is stainless without any coating, or stainless underneath with chrome plating. Hopped over to the Weber site to find out but the info was not there.

Also interesting to note that there used to be a link at the top that explaining their coatings. There is no such link anymore, so I wonder if they are done with the coating permanently. I LOVE my DLC.

It says "All components are 100% stainless steel" and "Hand polished cap and comb"

So no plating or coatings

How about the ARCs? And... I'm curious to know how much of a difference it really makes?Is there any difference beyond how slippery it feels? And how much different can that be, beyond polishing it well and using a good shaving soap or cream?

(I'm not being difficult, I'm just curious about whether I should want a DLC head, or an ARC head. I already ordered the new polished stainless, so I'll see how that one is myself, soon. But that stretched my holiday budget already!)

A good comparison would be cookware:
DLC/ARC razor head = nonstick pan
polished steel razor head = stainless steel pan
One can fry an egg on either - the nonstick is intrinsically slicker and easier to do this on - the stainless surface works well also but with proper seasoning.

I'm in on the Weber Bulldog. Seems like a great price at $70. How do these compare fit and finish wise to the Feather, Titan or other all stainless brands.
