The odd couple - please help to identify

I won a bid on a Fat Handle Tech and the odd one was thrown in.
The head looks shiny and new but the handle is all kinds of weird. I think this was cobbled together by someone as a user and sold by someone with no clue (blades still installed ). So what have I gotten here?

Both those razors look correct to me. Pre war Fat handle tech and an old type. I have an old type just like it. No date code on my old type. Chromium plated I think they call the finish. Not sure on that though.

So it is not unusual that the plating on the handle fades but stays on the head?
I would have never guessed that head and handle could belong together/are from the same time period.
