Straights from ClassicShaving?

So, one vendor that I don't hear much about (other than hatred for their soap) is Classicshaving.com. However, they have a straight that I'm interested in, listed as "Professionally Honed" (the other option is "Factory Honed", obviously not as sharp). Has anyone here purchased a straight from them before? I've purchased from them before, but not a straight, and since I'm still just learning I'm not sure I know a well-honed razor from a poor one.

They are a good company no doubt about that. I've purchased a good number of items from them with no complaints at all. The straights they sell are honed as they should be to last several months with proper stroping before use.
They have even thrown in a couple of freebies from time to time. Good folks all around!

They are a great company and the blades are very high quality. I would recommend them for most stuff. Be sure to check out some of the barber supply sites like bowmanbeauty.com, Good prices and good bladed. I would suggest if you dont know how to hone and strop very well that you start with a cheaper razor, but if you are a master at it go big. It just sucks when you jack up a 200 to 300 dollar razor.

I've picked up a few things at their warehouse and storefront. Razors are plenty shave worthy but I was told when I was there a few weeks ago that Lynn isn't doing the honing anymore.

Hi,

I have bought a few straights from them, and they are a great Company to do business with :001_smile

The razors were shave ready.

Have fun !

Best regards

Russ

I've had excellent results dealing with Classic Shaving. I've found them be be very good to deal with. I've bought both of my Feather AC's from them, as well as many other things. Service and shipping has been just fine. :thumbup1:

I've purchased many items from them with no problem at all, actually, I go to them first before anywhere else.

Repeating much of the above -- good place to do business. Except for the soaps. :tongue_sm

And I wouldn't worry too much about someone other than Lynn doing the honing. He's not the only good honemeister.

Like many people have said already..... they are a great company to do business with and would highly recommend them for anything shaving related. I just dropped off a straight the other day for a co-worker and was told they get shipped to Michigan to be honed by the folks who make/hone the new Hart razors.
