Spill proof Thermos for Travel

I've been doing some bike commuting and I need a coffee thermos that I can put in a pannier or a messenger bag. I need something that will keep my coffee warm, something will seal so if it tips over it won't spill and something I can drink directly out of since I very likely won't have any access to cups or mugs.

Thanks!

you can screw the cap as tight as you like, the most secure travel mug I have tried. Does a great job of keeping stuff hot, only bad thing is the handle makes it a bit bulky.

I have this also, it does not work as well as a dedicated vacuum bottle but if you are going to drink it soon- its OK.

Smaller than the original Stanley with all the features.

I have this very flask and will be filling it with coffee very soon!

One question. Why is the volume rated as 0.5 quart? Surely that's a pint!

Not sure with these smaller quarts and pints you have in the States. 0.5 US quart is about 0.41 British quart. 0.47 litre is so much easier, you know where you stand! Same in both countries.

I use this one also but as mentioned the handle might be too bulky for you.

Below is another option that might be better for you. It holds 16 oz of liquid and according to Sweet Marias has great heat retention (209 degree water was still 168 degrees after 3 hours).

I love the carabiner on this. That would be perfect to clip to bag strap or eyelet.

Is there another model with a carabiner (or a way to attach one) that would keep the coffee hotter?

+1 on the Contigo model, keeps my coffee warm and has not spilled a drop in over a year of daily use. I picked mine up at Costco.

There are many briefcase thermoses out there that'll fit in your satchel. Almost all will have tops that'll double as a cup. There's a Sigg one that has a cup with a flexible ring that'll stand on its own and you can attach a carabiner to it too.
