This was my first shave with a kamisori. There will certainly be a learning curve with this one. I just did the first pass with it and then finished up with the injector. Nice shave!​

First-rate portrait, Doug. That blade does have a lean and hungry look to it. Take your time. The injector or any other will be a fine finisher until you're ready to finish the job with the kamisori.

Thanks Ron. I have been using Derby's for awhile and like them. I know some say they are junk, but they always work well for me. I generally get 5-6 fine shaves from them and they are nice and smooth. Not overly sharp, but comfortable. In the Wunderbar, the first shave is fairly aggressive. To me, slants in general are the DE razors that I must treat with the most respect. I have an X3, the Wunderbar, and the PAA bakelite. The X3 is very smooth, but can bite, the Wunderbar has more blade feel, and the PAA takes a delicate hand because of weight, but is very efficient.

Thanks for the info, Steve. I've been thinking about trying the Derby Extras. I have three slants but I don't use them very often: the iKon B1, the Holy Black SR-71 and the Fine Superlite. I may pick up a Maggard slant head since I like their other razor heads. Also, I've contemplated getting an X3 because I consider the iKon B1 the best of the slants I have.
