Today's shave was no April Fools joke, it was great. Three passes, no drama, no irritation.
The Wizamet blade was noticeably sharper than the FlyDear used last time. Very smooth, too.

In keeping with this week's theme I have shaved today with a minimalist travel setup introducing the KAI disposable paper razor. This razor is made of coated paper and requires some origami skills to fold it together. It comes in a flat paper bag, which is practical because it saves weight and space. The razor has no plastic parts whatsoever, only paper and steel. It is a three blade cartridge which is glued to the paper. There isn't a lubrication strip.

First shave with it wasn't pleasant because it kept on tugging and skipping and after a while I realized that this was probably due to technique. I'm so used by now to not exert any pressure that I did the same here. Once I applied sufficient pressure the blades glided just fine. Overall shave quality isn't as good as with a DE razor but I achieved CCS on face and SAS on neck in two passes (WTG & ATG). It's a nifty little razor suitable for a quick shave on the road or when enjoying the outdoors. It's extremely light weight at just 3 grams, so that is something to get used to. The shaves aren't great but passable and I think that the razor would be good for 4-5 shaves.

I used a Mr Taylor's Shaving Cream sample today, as that would be something I would bring along on a trip. It would last me 4-5 shaves. Great scent and it lathers amazingly. The Liscio brush is now my designated travel brush as it is small and dries quickly. The DSC plastic bowl is great for travel because I don't need to worry about breakage. The shave was completed with 4711 in a very small travel size bottle.

Today's travel theme is Aotearoa (aka New Zealand). In the background you'll see a bottle of Ti - Toki Liqueur in a ceramic crock which is in the shape of a "tekoteko", the carved figure typically found at the apex of the whare tipuna (ancestral house). A New Zealand abalone MoP shell complements the theme.

First time using this soap. It's slick enough, but felt like it dried on my face a little, and I definitely added enough water. I think I need a few more uses to judge it properly. Not the best skin feel after, a bit dry and squeaky.

First face & head shave of April 2024...Throughout April I'll carry on using various razors for both my head & face shaves paired together with a diverse variety of DE blades that I've infrequently used.

An acceptable close combined face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.
