Hello B&Bers!

This Week’s SOTD Theme Week is anything to do with motorized vehicles. We want to see shaving gear that fits the theme or photos of your SOTD that is inspired by the theme.

Post your plum Crazy Purple or Ferrari Red handled shaving brushes, a fragrance you bought at the airport before getting on a flight, aftershaves from Ford, Bentley or Mercedes and so on! Do you have an antique Hot Wheels or Lionel Train collection? We wanna see them incorporated into you SOTD photos.

Heck, we’ll even take a pic of your razor with a photo of Neil Armstrong or Kyle Busch! Signed pic of Steve Martin or John Candy (RIP)… sneaky but acceptable. Even shower curtain rings are on theme (hardcore, but fans of the very funny 1987 John Hughes movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles will get it). 😜

This Weekly Theme is fun and can go in so many directions so let’s see some creative pics and posts. I am looking forward to this theme as I am a big car fan and travel a lot via plane and train.

If you don’t have anything themed, post pics of your usual SOTD or just tell us about it.

As always, being creative and having fun IS mandatory but sticking with the theme is NOT mandatory but very strongly encouraged.

Let’s see the Planes, Trains, Automobiles and similar!

Since I am alternating soaps, I used Cella soap today. Today’s brush is a badger: Morris & Forndran 2XL Finest. I used my Henson AL+++ loaded with a Polsilver Super Iridium blade for the fourth and final day. The razor gave me a close, smooth shave. The Polsilver Super Iridium is a favorite of mine. This was one of my favorite blades and have only a few blades. The shave was perfect. Have a wonderful day and week, folks.

August 26, 2024 Monday shave

Razor: GEM Feather Weight (1)
Blade: GEM PTFE (2)
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush: Paladin Tut w/STF XL by RV
Post shave: Omega alum block, Thayer's Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

This was the first shave with the Feather Weight razor. It seems to be milder than the GEM Micromatic and Ever-Ready 1914, but still not my idea of a fun, enjoyable razor. It does a great job on the face, but getting close on the neck resulted in very light irritation, something I have little tolerance for.
The shave was close, but not pleasant.

The RV re-knotted Paladin brush was perfect as usual. Good lather was made and that was a plus.

I think I'll be enjoying the Overlander, Henson+++ and Athena for a while.
