SLANTember, Saturday, Sept 21 2024

Razor : Yaqi SLOPE 316 SS torsional slant with a Yaqi brass nickel coated handle. Mfg 2022>, mild to tame mid range. Well machined and finish is adequate for my shave needs. If a person wants a little more blade feel just use a Kai SS (wider blade by 8/1000 thousands of a inch compared to a standard Gillette blade.). Standard Gillette blades give a DFS++ for myself. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette 7oClock super platinum. Sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Tabac puck triple milled. Flowery scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Cola" 22mm plissoft knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Interesting handle to grip and works well.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Nivea ever refreshing lotion(nice scent) + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.5.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SLOPE Slant with a 7oClock SP blade.

SV Saturday
Semogue Saturdays!

Hello friends

A cloudy Saturday. I chose a soap that is quickly winning me over, SV Morado, with its splendid aroma and the best post-shave sensation of all my soaps. Semogue Pegasus Mistura, majestic as always. Greencult 2.0 IV, my favorite razor with a brand new Gillette Silver Blue. To finish, FloΓ―d The Genuine.

With us, two great friends, Bill and Tony.

What more could I want, dear friends?

Rating: 10

Have a nice weekend and great shaves!

Having been inundated with (@ajkel64) Andrew's posts (on the threads I watch), in particular his razor for this week, I was encouraged to break away from my OliBlade Grail Razor and give my Gillette No 26 Set FBT some love.

It was a nice change and a great shave. Thank you, Andrew!

Here's today's shave with it:

SOTD Sunday 22 September

  • Razor Gillette Adjustable FatBoy G1 (5)
  • Blade Sharp Jaws Platinum (3)
  • Pre-Shave Tricare Goats Milk
  • Brush Vulfix Pure Badger
  • Soap Proraso – Wood and Spice
  • Post Shave Thayers unscented Witch Hazel
  • Aftershave Brut Splash
  • Balm Nivea – Sensitive Pro - Post Shave Cooling Balm

The Morning Shave.
The Sharp Jaws blade was in my 1961 Gillette FatBoy today.

3rd use on the Jaws blade, these blades come double wrapped.
Very nice daily shave, comfortable with no weepers or irritation.
I use the Badger brush once per week, to allow it to dry thoroughly.
I usually use it with Proraso, so its beginning to keep a little scent in the brush, of the Wood & Spice and Sandalwood.

I was watching a recent upload of Chuck’s Shaving Channel; he covered his hometown.
Particularly interesting to see the history of Petticoat Junction Amusement Park.
Chuck has a lost a lot of his channel Subscribers due to a YouTube problem.

If you have a time, drop in and have a look, the YouTube algorithm probably no longer keep his videos on the main page.
