Shave of the Day (SOTD) Tuesday November 27, 2012
proxy.php

• Prep: Brush soaking in hot mentholated water, face washed with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser, luke warm shower
• Razor: Bright Nickel Canadian Tech monuted to T2 Handle
• Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
• Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
• Soap: Tabac with added Menthol
• AS: Aqua Velva Musk with added Menthol
• Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash of Aftershave

What matters is "does the razor get the job done" and the Tech gets it done. It take me 3 full passes and buffing to get a great shave but I never have that raw feeling no matter how sharp of a blade that I use. That means more to me that having a single pass shave but my skin being abused.

The Tabac with the added menthol was nice...the great lather and smell of Tabac, and the freeze of the menthol was a winning combination for me.

Wow Gentlemen!
So many fantastic photos today! Amazing!

Well, the morning seemed to be starting off well. I woke up at my usual time, and got every thing set for my morning shave. I put a bit of water on the puck of DR Harris Windsor soap, got the Manchurian Rover soaking whilst I stropped up the Le Grelot and had a nice hot shower. The lather was wonderful, and I did two quick passes leaving the face nice and smooth. The shave was outstanding!

I finished getting dressed, took the dogs out and went to put away the razor. That's where the day went down hill quickly! As I turned to the cabinet where I keep them, the razor slipped out of my hand. It hit the floor and I was left with this:

A moment of silence please!

Bill, I am sorry for your loss! I cringed as I scrolled down on my iPhone screen and saw your 2nd photo!:scared:

Nice picture Bill (the first one obviously).

Sorry to see the second picture, but judging by your description of the shave, she went out in a blaze of glory. Look on the bright side - it gives you a reason to buy another razor.

Shave of the Day (SOTD) Wednesday November 28, 2012

• Prep: Brush soaking in hot mentholated water, face washed with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser, luke warm shower
• Razor: 1918 Gillette Old Type 102 Single Ring
• Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
• Brush: Semogue 820 Boar
• Soap: Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus with added Menthol
• AS: British Sterling with....you guessed it, Menthol
• Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash of Aftershave

This will be my last shave with this razor...as it is. It along with a few others are being sent off to be replated in Bright Nickel. This is one of the razors that I love but I never use because it looks bad. Soon it will become a regular part of my rotation.

I was able to get more menthol madness yesterday. While visiting my tobacco shop I asked the owner if he had any menthol, he did not, but he told me to go visit a local Indian market a few blocks away and to ask for it. They had a 15ml 100% Menthol food grade liquid for only $2.99, there was no way I was not going to try it. Wow this stuff is wickedly strong. One drop into a healthy palm full of British Sterling and I I felt like Mr Freeze. I need to figure out how much of this stuff to add to bottle of aftershave.

Razor: Weber ARC w/ Bulldog Handle

Blade: Super Max Titanum

Soap: Mystic Water Soap (Bay Rum)

Brush: Semogue 620

I had an outstanding BBS shave with the Weber. It has been awhile since I used the Super Max Titanum blade. I am glad that I used it because this blade does not get enough love. Sharp, smooth, & unforgiving.
