Maxterpiece: 15/16" H.R. Böker #14 "Arbolito", Full Hollow Ground, (muted) Spike Point (w/ Black Horn scales)
Strop: 25/60 laps (Torolf Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather)
Überlather: Al's Custom "Spicy" Shave Creme + Haslinger "Honey" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
After Shave Balm: RazoRock AS wax
Cologne: Creed "Tabarome" EdT
Results: It's great to be back (missed you guys). Wife and I returned from Vegas on business/pleasure and had a great time visiting Max and family (thank you for your hospitality maestro

). I only shaved on Monday with my DE (wonderfully smooth shave though), so today I was reaaaaaaaally looking forward to shaving with one of my straights. Question was which one

? My wife suggested the Arbolito/Shavemac combo. I love it when my wife gets involved in my shaving (or other) habits/hobbies

. Makes this sport all that much more fun.

. The Haslinger/Bomb combo was deliciously moist and fantastic, leading to a luxurious prep. The Arbolito had no problems wiping the 24 hr growth. What a feeling

.

PS: This week, I am waiting for two special "treats" coming my way...stay tuned

The favourite razor week last month was a huge success! Both our straight shavers and DE shavers showed some of their best razors and certainy did have a lot of fun doing that. Skipped a shave yesterday , so I took my time today, gave the whiskers time to soak in some softening moisture. Made sure the Wade and Butcher was good and sharp (last night it went from the stones to the strops) with a preshave 20 strokes on leather today. Combined short and long strokes.

Two passes, and I have been trying something different. Maybe you do this too? On my first wtg pass, I lather everything. On my second xtg pass, I lather up and shave in zones: neck/cheeks/front. Seems to help with limiting irritation on the second pass.

Thanks David. For str8s rule DE, any day of the week and twice on Sunday . Call me crazy, but I just like my edges treated the way I want not the way the manufacturer sells it .

The Muhle R89 is outstanding IMO. A touch light in the handle for my ideal weight but nevertheless a great shaver. And a fantastic close up, Emanuel, to show it off!

Results: This Bengall is always a pleasure to use. Max restored this beauty with all original parts and she still looks like she just came off the factory floor. The BH software was equally a delight to break out. Splendid scent and a great lather make for a wonderful shaving experience

. The Bengall had absolutely no issues mowing the left over whiskers that decided to fly in the face of wisdom and challenge her. Another BBS and smooth shave

. I am ready to hit the road and tackle what's sure to turn into a "nasty" Los Angeles commute...all for a 1.5 hr meeting. I guess some businesses have not heard of Skype
