Soap: Vitos Red
Razor: 2020 SS Gillette Tech with custom olive wood handle
Blade: Super Stainless Gillette Blue Blade (12)
ASL: Proraso Red

A very nice shave. :cornut:

I should really get back to daily shaving. The trouble is, I'm such an idle git. :001_rolle

Prep: Warm shower w/ hair conditioner on whiskers
2 pass shave plus touch-up: WTG, AGT/XTG
Razor: Rockwell 6S w/ #6 plate
Blade: Gillette Nacet (3)
Pre-Shave Cream: Proraso Red, Sandalwood & Shea Butter
Brush: Semogue 1305 Pure Bristle Boar
Soap: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
Aftershave: Proraso Blue Balm, Aloe and Vitamin E
BBS! Just a touch of irritation afterwards
  • Tried the #6 plate for the first time today. I was worried about irritation (let alone nicks), but I think I am getting used to this razor. I just need to remind myself to take it easy with pressure on the upward strokes.
  • This brush's performance was awesome this morning! It has been in break-in mode. Today it seemed to jump a level or two. Still a little ways to go, but is getting close.

I was on the road this week and took this simplified kit. It was my first Sensor shave since, oh, sometime in the early 90s, I’d wager and it was as good as I remember. The plain Sensors were my favorite, but this was an Excel—still not too shabby. Not going back to these on a regular basis, but definitely useful on the road (and as I don’t have a travel system in place for DE yet). I found the handle on the Bay after reading about them on B&B. Back home now, so tonight’s shave was this:

Pre: Noxzema wash
Brush: La Maison du Barbier (Plisson) synthetic
Razor: Parker Semi-slant
Blade: Astra SP (#2)
Soap: Mike’s Natural Bay Rum
Post: Alum followed by Stirling Bay Rum witch hazel and aloe splash

Great shave tonight! First use of Mike’s (thanks @WooDrew and the BST) and even though it was poor lather on my part it was slick and protective with fantastic after shave feel. Will definitely be ordering some more!
