Straight shave #6. Took me a while, but focused on the angles and emerged with a shave that rivals my Merkur HD, even though I only did WTG. I also made sure to strop for a while and did more than 30 stropping passes. To say the least, I'm in love with my straight and am finding it so hard to resist getting another one.
Also was my first time using the Pre de Provence - what a great scent and lather.

Wade & Butcher 9/16 full hollow, spike point
C&E Best Badger
Pre de Provence Shave Soap
Burberry Brit aftershave
Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge (first use of the sample and love the scent. I got a compliment from a lady this past week while using Citrus Paradisi)

Lalique - Encre Noire

Horrifying shave today, and the culprit was the Cremo Cream.
I think this is really meant to be a brushless cream. It's gotten raving reviews here on B&B for being super slick and thick. My experience was a little different....

First of all, I had to use insane amount of cream to get a decent amount of lather. Secondly, and worst of all, after covering my face the lather immediately started to disappear and turn all airy and bubbly. I had to re-lather my neck after I had completed the first pass on my cheeks. The later on my neck was simply .... gone in 30 seconds.

I get the feeling that I have done something wrong here, and more trials with cream/water ratio is warranted. First impressions however, was not good. Anybody have any tips with this cream in particular?

Oh, yes, and thank you everybody for great pics today :thumbup1:

You're not alone, I've never had a good experience with Cremo and certainly couldn't make a reasonable lather with a brush.

Slim Adjustable w/ Shark (2)
Semogue 2009 LE
Prep SS
HBG Vermont AS
[Pino Silvestre EdT]

How to describe Prep? Take a Fisherman's Friend lozenge, add some camphor to enhance scent and there you go. Wonderfully refreshing! But maybe not for everyone's tastes.
Regarding performance I would say it's fairly good: neither outstanding nor mediocre, just plain good lather. I think it's quite normal for a vegetable based soap.

Cheers,
Vasco
