I realize I have a parade of made in Canada Gillette razors. Go figure. So today’s is a Goodwill on a Tech fat handle that I had put away for a long while. It was great! Maybe better even than than the Canadian Old Type that I have been using regularly.

I also realize that my bowl is made in Canada by a Canadian.

I shaved yesterday before logging in to B&B so did not go along with the Canada theme. I am one of those guys who shaves right after I get up. The Klar is still going strong even after 164 uses. Today’s weapon is the made in Canada Wolfman loaded with a Personna Medical Prep blade used for the 4th time. Another excellent, BBS shave.

Travel SOTD Tuesday 12/7

I am on the road since Saturday and did not know it was going to be Canada week. Had I known, I would have brought all Canadian stuff. And we are traveling with backpacks only for this trip... carrying them onto the airplanes. So DE is out anyways. For this week, I diverge from my normally extensive travel kit, and took a very minimal setup. Guard razor, a couple of samples, and a small Plisson synth. Had a good shave this morning. But the Guard is not a very efficient razor. Smooth as butter, but it just barely gets me into DFS territory. I dont often bowl lather, as I am a dedicated face latherer. My normal travel kit usually has a stick for easy face lathering. I often will throw a tub in my dopp bag as well for variety if the trip is longer than a week. But these samples dont allow for any brush loading, so a bowl lather was in order. I really do enjoy a nice bowl lather once in a while, and need to do it more often. I will need to break out my scuttle now that the weather is getting cold. For a minimalistic travel shave, this kit did the job it was meant to do! It was a pleasurable shave today.

Brush: Plisson
Soap: PAA Red Planet sample
Razor: Gillette Guard
Aftershave: SV Dolomiti sample
Bowl: Hotel cereal bowl :)
