A new no-name Type L clone from the auction site arrived today. It's much better quality than I was expecting, although I have not shaved with it yet. At least everything looks like it's aligned correctly.

That is the 1924 patented Shovelhead, in my book a masterpiece. The patent applied for versions are supposed to have been produced from 1919 to 1924, I recall. American Safety Razor made them.Picked this up at an antique mall today. Any info that can be provided about the possible manufacturing time frame is appreciated, and what blades will work with this if I decide to try it?

@Hydguy BTW, your blade stops look worn. If you use it, make sure the blade edge rests firmly against the stops. For reference, here is a picture of one of my Shovelheads with one intact, fully hooked, stop L and one worn stop R.
