I spent the last few evenings honing 8 wedge blades and my hope was that one or a couple/few I honed properly. I varied my technique slightly for each blade thinking I can adopt the technique used for which ever blade is honed best - assuming at least one is honed well. For today's shave, I used 3 of those wedges in 3 lather catchers for my shave and to test how I did honing.

Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
Soap - La Savonniere du Moulin
Brush - Simpson 400-3
Blade1 - Kampfe Bros Star
Razor1 - Kampfe Bros Star lather catcher US Pat 6/15/80, Eng Pat 3/8/87
Blade2 - M-K Heljestrand
Razor2 - Kindal Heljestrand lather catcher
Blade3 - Heljestrand
Razor3 - CV Heljestrand lather catcher
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Epsilon Blue A/S

Absolutely beautiful collection of early safety razors there.

You mentioned you honed some blades but you didn't mention your results, how did it go?

Thank you

2 of the wedges were ok but the third was really good - gave me a very smooth finish to my shave.

Razor: Valet VC2 British
Blade: Feather FHS-10
Brush: Stirling Boar
Pre-Shave: Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap
Lather: Williams Aqua Velva infused
Aftershave: Fine Platinum
Additional Care:
Thayer's Witch Hazel
Gentlemen Jon's Alum Block

This evening's shave was fantastic. I was blown away by the Valet VC2. It was extremely forgiving and yet efficient. In fact, it was so forgiving that I could easily skate through a shave with very little worry of even a nic. I'd be interested to see how it operates on a new blade. It was my third shave with the FHS-10, it may not have much in the way of legs left. That being said it showed no signs of stopping during this shave. The Williams lathered up well, although I think in the future I'll remember that it tends to be thirsty and add more water. The Aqua Velva added a pleasant undertone to the familiarity of the Williams. Despite the discomfort of my last shave, I felt nothing of it considering the mildness of the VC2. Perhaps a new favorite razor. Definitely high on the list.

Three pass WTG/XTG/ATG shave with only one hiccup. I got careless below my nose and gave myself a weeper...I was trying to get too deep under there. My fault, but it didn't ruin a fantastic shave.
