Rose Scents?

After receiving a sample of Domenico Caraceni (and subsequently buying a bottle), I was wondering what other Rose scents I should give a try? I never really thought rose would work on a man, but I've been proved wrong.

Recently I obtained a sample of C&S no 88 and am impressed as well. Only worn it twice, but think it may become bottle worthy. I have the entire line of C&S samples in the mail, but was able to get 88 from another order. Am going to wait until I try them all as I would like to own a bottle from this house, but so far 88 is pretty nice.

Have a sample of Montale Black Aoud in the mail, but am looking for others.

The only other one I want to sample at the moment is Le Labo Rose 31.

What else is out there and highly thought of?

The four you reference are four of the tops in my book. Rose 31 really worth a try. Modern scent. Quite manly. Good rose note mixed with cedar and a bit of dirty via cumin.
After joining B&B, I got hooked on Trumpers Rose Shaving Cream and went on a hunt for rose scents, here and in Basenotes. I tried a bunch of them. DC 1913 is probably my favorite just for the sake of wearing a masculine rose scent.

Rose as a note is contained in many, many men's scents. Knize 10 and Habit Rouge for example both contain rose I gather. But it's blended in such a wat that it's not very noticeable as "rose" - at least to me.

Below are some scents I've tested or read a lot about where the rose note is pretty prominent.

Creed Windsor- the rose note not as prominent as with those you've mentioned, but when it's there, it's awesome. The most realistic rose of any I've tried. Like standing in front a big rose bush after a rain.

L'Artisan Voleur de Roses - unisex, mixture of patchouli and earthy rose.

Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet- an odd Victorian scent. A bit too much for some. But it is quite distinctive and has a sort of elegance. Kind of has the same "personality" as Windsor to me but very old worldly unlike Windsor.

Penhaligon's Elixer- Supposed to be a sort of modernized version of Hammam Bouquet. I've only given a quick sniff. Some here really like it.

Washington Tremlett Black Tie- I weighed this one out against DC 1913. Very nice. Maybe it's the psychology of the name they gave it, but it does feel quite formal. I almost felt like I'd need a tux to smell like that. Worth a sniff.

Amouage Lyric for Men- VERY rosey and pricey. A bit too much for me. But I should give it another test wear at some point. I wouldn't call it feminine, it has its fans, but something didn't sit right with me and this one.

Iquitos by Alain Delon and Zino by Davidoff- Never tried these two but I've seen them referenced by masculine rose scent lovers. I think Zino is out of production, but still findable at some pretty good prices. It's kind of a hairy-chested, gold chain wearing 80s version of a rose scent. But some say that's an unfair characterization.

Thanks StylinLA!

Guess I'll see what the Montale and Le Labo offer and if I indeed get C&S 88, then that will be more than plenty for my den. Glad to know the 4 I picked to sample are regarded as the tops.

Oddly enough, I don't get much rose in Rose 31, i've only used a sample though and haven't given it a good 4 spray wearing.

I see all of those referenced a lot here and Basenotes. You researched well.

Overall in a full wearing, the cedar is probably most prominent 3-4 hours in, but I do get a fair bit of rose out of it.

C & S Dark Rose is awesome, and distinct enough from No. 88 that they could both be bottle-worthy if you really enjoy roses.

My two current favorite roses are C&S 88 and Montale Black Aoud. What I really want is an elegant yet extremely inexpensive masculine rose. Where is it?

Une Rose by Malle is rather nice.

...

In fact, it is superb!

I use "Rose d'Homme" de Parfums de Rosine, and it's very nice, it's simmilar to "Globe" de Rochas if you can remember it, but more classy

The bottle on the right side is the Rose d'homme

This is quite a nice-looking collection (although probably a bit spartan by some people's standards:tongue_sm). What's that nice Prussian blue bottle in the back - Oxford and Cambridge?

Anyone try the SCS Bulgarian Rose Edt? For $22 for 1oz I'm tempted to just add it to my order as a blind buy.

One scent that people tend to neglect on here, and which I think is generally under-rated, is Chanel Egoiste. Very nice men's floral. Not to be confused with its inferior but more popular younger brother, Platinum Egoiste!

Though for what it's worth the rose is smoothly blended into a larger accord rather than a loud stand-alone note like in e.g. Black Aoud. Basically a matter of taste which style you prefer.

I have it. I like it but have not worn it much. But I do not wear 88 much either. The SCS BR is something of a take on 88, but is a little less exotic. Not a pure dark rose, but dark rose is dominant.
