Question on rust removal

Bought a GEM 1912 SE from a garage sale for 5 bucks. It has just a few small surface rust spots on the handle, and a small round spot on the back of the head where the GEM logo is etched.

I've read the wiki restoration on cleaning and polishing a razor. But just wanted to be clear; is it the Maas polish that will remove this rust?

WD 40 removes rust fairly quickly. Maas might as well, though I never used it for that. Could help with a small amount of rust.

colgate toothpaste and an old toothbrush should work.
