Queen Charlotte - Vostok, First Impressions

I received my order today of bath soaps and 3 samples of shaving creams from QCS that i placed on Sunday night. I chose to try the Vostok shave cream first for my shave this night and i must say WOW! It felt like i had stuck my head out the car window while going 100mph in a snow storm . I have never used anything quite like this and i like it. I did have a little bit of trouble getting the lather going but it will come with practice. Even though my lather was a bit thin, the razor glided over my skin and gave an irritation free DFS. When my sample of this product runs out i will post up a review, but for my first impressions I give it

I used my Vostok the other day. I described it as sticking my face in a snow bank! Great product, but I too need to perfect the soap/water ratio...

I shaved with this stuff this morning, my face was still cold about 30 minutes later. When I began lathering, nothing, great minty smell and about 20 seconds later, full on menthol face freeze. Great soap!

Also ordered a tub of the vostok and lime. Excellent products. The vostok reminded me of riding my motorcycle home when its about 40 degrees out...no windshield...no helmet..no gloves....just face numbing coldness. And it has a great peppermint smell to it also.

Well had a shave with vostok today. HOLY FROZEN OVER HELL. I could smell the menthol as I was whipping it up. It opened up my lungs my sinus' OMG I could breathe. I followed my normal procedure with my bowl in my sink filled with hot water so when I was appling the lather it was still warm, and I was thinking to myself "this isn't the coldness everyone was talking about" Then it hit me. It was like I was snowboarding again and just jumped off a 30 ft cliff landing in 8 feet of powder rushing your face. I LOVED IT!!! towards the end of the shave it was even so cold that I had some tiny tears popping out. I am defiantly going to have to order a full size when my sample runs out. Will be perfect for those hot summer days.

I am pretty interested in this cream because I get irritated skin when shaving and the cooling effect sounds awesome!

Anyone with sensitive skin used this? Wondering if it is too mentholated and may irritate my skin...

Youll like how Celestial Woods smells. Smells just like fresh cut pine.

I've got fairly sensitive skin and i LOVED the Vostok Lite sample from QCS. The chill feeling as you rinse off with cold water at the end of a shave is amazing.
Good lather and protection for me, from this croap.

Agree with everyone's comments about Vostok. Have used the sample and WOW. Also used some others, like basilica, etc. Concern is that I have had heck of a time getting a thick lather. At first I thought it was just me (although I have absolutely NO problem with all other brands getting a luxurious rich cream lather). Hope this isn't an issue with QC.

Have you taken a look at this video? I find that if you are scooping the cream out of the container, which you have to do if using the sample containers, you need to use at least a good almond-sized portion of cream.

I'm trying to man myself up to try what I think must be the ultimate cold shave; Vostok + 444
- but I'm not quite there yet

On the other side, the Vostok may be so cold I can't feel the 444

I used a sample but it did burn my skin. Too bad as this really is some fun cream. I had the same reaction to GIT. Esquire, Sandlewood and Lavender were no problem and excellent creams.

I finally got the chance to use this and WOW!! Nothing comes close to how cold this goes on. It will make your face feel like it's in ice. I love it. Great scent and amazing feeling! Anyone who likes a menthol chill needs to try this! I will certainly have this in the rotation all summer long.

The tallow in this soap/croap is so soothing and yet enhances the mint menthol blend. Sensitive skin or not this stuff rocks.
