I was consolidating my scraps of Queen Charlotte soaps from different tubs. I use QC for test-lathering brushes on my hand. It's a fine soap but I have many others I like more for actual shaving.
After combining some Celestial Wood and some Eucalyptus-something I decided to throw in some Cella (red tub) that I made into sticks. By eyeball I would say it was about 60:40 Cella:QC. I kneaded the mixture like a pizza dough for a few minutes and pressed into into an empty QC plastic container. Oddly, I had a bit of trouble holding the container because it kept slipping out of my hands - this stuff was slick. I shaved with some this morning using a Hoffritz slant and a Gillette Silver Blue (fourth shave) and had an incredible shave. I could hardly feel the razor until I went ATG. There was a minimal aftershave sting with Floid Vigoroso, which indicates to me that it was a smooth shave. I guess this was a true "super-lather" because the combination seemed noticeably superior compared to either QC or Cella (red tub) used individually.
Live and learn.
