Tried Cella for the first time

If I only had to shave with Cella for the rest of my life , I’d be very happy, I’m on my fifth kilo of it , excellent soap !!
Me too.

I really like Cella Red (sweet almond). The tallow makes for a creamy shave and the sweet almond oil is good for my skin. I let my wife try it and she made me give her one of my tubs! 🤣 She loves it, too. This soap performs so much better than more expensive soaps in all categories that its inexpensive price is surprising.

I also bought a Cella red to try out and fudged it on my first try. Too much water. Can't say I'm a fan of the almond scent though but I'll get used to it.

I did the same; don’t know why they continue using that small tub.
I said this on a famous Italian forum and the Cella fanboys all told me to get a brush with a smaller knot ..
Ah .. I said .. true .. why didn’t I think about doing this? Brushes are generally bought in order to fit the tubs soaps are stored in 😅😆
I purchased a Simpson's X2L Colonel for precisely this purpose. I find it works great in that little tub.

I use 25mm to 28mm brushes in my Cella tubs. I simply pinch in the bristles a little until they fit, let go, and start swirling. No issues at all.

Got in a second shave last night with Cella, loaded from the amount scooped for the first shave.

Will post a picture of the setup which was
Razor: Razorock Gamechanger 76.P with Asylum Handle
Brush: Razorock Bruce 24mm Plissoft
Blade: Derby Extra (1)

Forgot to squeeze out the water from the base of the brush after loading, so had to take some time to get
that worked into a lather. The Cella was very forgiving and eventually assembled into very dense and slick lather.
I can really understand the hype now, totally anecdotal but Cella gives a good/nice sense on the skin if that makes sense, the ingredients feels less chemical than most other soaps.

The Derby did a fair job in the GC, but far away as efficient or smooth as Astra Greens. Minimum DFS result after two passes on the face, three under chin/neck.

Stirling is probably my #1, but Cella can really do it all, it might surpass the former in the protective department.
As previous shave, postshave effects was superb, skin feels moisturized and healthy.

Hang in there. Marzipan was not my first love either, but Cella's scent has become a nice change of pace for me. If nothing else, I look forward to it knowing that the shave will be good, but there's also the fact that the scent does not linger and leaving it out in a bowl has helped take the edge off.

For scent, of those I've used:

Vitos Red = more cherry, less sweet. Personal favorite.
TFS Red Bowl = classic marzipan per @Marco (I'm no expert). 2nd favorite.
Cella Red= Dr. Pepper. A close 3rd favorite.
Razorock P160 = slightly different and/or stronger than its TFS parent. Distant 4th place. Could be batch variation.

TFS Ciotola Rossa is classic Italian amaretto to be more precise, Sir. :cuppa:

I ordered a small tin to test TFS, and I think the "Marzipan/almond paste" scent is pretty dead on. Amaretto smells differerently, in my opinion, but that may be due to the alcohol.

In any case: great soap, scent is a bit intrusive, but ok. Got a really good lather on the first try, even better than my usual Haslinger. I think this is a keeper.
Any good source for a brick except for $20 at Italian Barber?

Sir, I have no idea on where to buy it in the USA. I'm Italian and easily buy it for €8 here, no problem at all for me.

Ask me about shaving naked!
Pasteurs has the brick for $11.99 but they are out of stock. No idea if the restock price will be the same, but $20 for a brick of Italian soap is still a bargain.

In Canada, but they ship to US no problem:

In Italy the word "amaretto" refers not only to the special liqueur you mention, but also to special almond based cookies. And TFS Crema Purissima Per Barba has exactly the fragrance of the almond based cookies amaretti!

Yes, you are lucky in that respect. I paid $8 for the 145mL tub. I have connections over in Europe, but I doubt the shipping will be less than the difference. And as a brick will last several years of shaving, not really an issue.

Interesting. I know "amaretto" as the liqueur, and the cookies, which I certainly know, are called "amarettini".
Probably different in Italian.
