Problem with a NEW handle

I picked up a NEW w/ common bar handle on the bay in a lot along with a
Star DE. Cheap.

Tried them out today, and discovered that the NEW handle threads on to the head rather loosely, then eventually tightens up.....but with a blade in there the NEW handle doesn't engage the threads on the head......

I tried putting the NEW handle on the Star head -- no problem.....I put the Star handle on the NEW head -- no problem....what gives ? I suppose that the NEW handle has some stripped threads, but what can be done to make it workable with its original NEW head ?

My only thought was maybe wrapping some plumbers teflon tape onto the threads of the head, but there isn't any in the house right now......

Does anyone have a solution/suggestion ? Thanks !

Is the hand a ball-end type?
Maybe it's not the threads, but the barrel spinning around?

What I would do...

• Either swap both handles.
• Find another NEW
• Buy a custom made handle from Cooncatbob... (Link)

Is there a crack in the handle? There often is on those models.
