What's new

Not too Shabby

Nice razors! That super adjustable doesn't look like it has any white chips in the handle, either.

If you don't have any MAAS yet, get some and the nickel plated razor heads will shine up very nicely.

Thanks!

Yea, it has on little nick on the handle, very small. That's gonna be the first one I try. Can' wait for tomorrow morning!

I cleaned them a bit with a toothbrush, warm water, soap, hydrogen peroxide. Should I boil them too you think? Or is that a no-no

Ooooh, I see. I used a couple drops of chrome polish my dad has for his bike, but as you can see, its a little dirty looking still.

Thanks

The overall best shave I've gotten right out of the chute was a flare tip. If the handle were a tad longer.....aah!

Don't boil them in the water. Boil some water, pour it into a bowl, then let them soak in it.

I add a little vinegar as well.

The gold standard for disinfecting (which I wasn't thinking about at all above) is to use a Barbicide/Mar-V-cide/Hydrocide product.

You can get it at a Sally Beauty supply store or any store that supplies beauty shops and barbers. A 10 minute soak is supposed to kill just about anything evil that you can think of.

Thanks, The SA is sweet--just one little dot scratch on the black and it has fully painted numbers.

What is the gold-tone one? I've seen tons of them, but still don't know what they are called, or when they were made....1940s?

Especially the Super Adjustable and the Featherweight. The plastic will deform quite badly.

It is a Gillette NEW, introduced in 1930 as the holder for the NEW Gillette Blade, the first slotted blade. The NEW is regarded by many of us as the greatest shaving design ever by Gillette. Thus, perhaps the greatest razor design ever.
