The Haslingers is a hard soap. If recall, I load Cella with about half to two thirds that many swirls.

Load it like ya hate it ;-)

Actually caught myself counting this mornings lather...50 swirls and had enough lather for about 5 more passes beyond the usual 2.5 passes!!

I obviously can't say for certain, but I'd bet that soap variance plays a big role (doh!)

Also, while I got the ST-1 to work, I'd estimate that an STF loads twice as much soap per swirl.

The two may not differ when optimizing for bowl lathering (I can't speak to this), but with the limits of water I can start with on the ST-1 for face lathering, I get much less soap on the brush. It's much more pasty, even as I add more water in small amounts.
