I'm a newbie to the world of wet shaving. The other day I remembered that my late grandfather had a safety razor. After placing some phone calls, my aunt invited me over to go through some boxes where she believed the razor was stored.
Buried in the first box, I see a shiny gold plated object underneath a stack of papers. Excited that I had found the razor, I brought it home to inspect and identify it.
After researching, I learned that this razor is the 1960 Gillette Toggle. To me it seems to be in good condition. It has a few scuffs on the top, and some dirt in some of the ridges. The dial and lever are both fully functional, and most of the razor still has a nice shine.
I tried cleaning it with dish soap. It did a good job, but there is still some dirt that can be removed. I'm considering taking it to a jeweler to have it cleaned with an ultrasound device. Hope you enjoy the following pictures!
