I've got a few vintage Spoilers, and I was thinking of giving one a try tomorrow. I've heard these were the zenith of DE blade production. I've also got some Personna 74's, but I've heard those are a bit harsh in comparison. I'll try the Spoiler in either my flare tip SS or Slim.
Well....I did it. Busted out a Spoiler for today's shave. I used one of my flare tips, since it's what I usually use to try out a new blade. For my first N-S pass, which is WTG for the most part, the results were quite good, no tugging or pulling whatsoever. However, on my S-N pass, which is mostly ATG, is where this blade really shined for me. It felt like there was not a blade in the razor. Oddly enough, though, there's a little redness on my neck, but there's no irritation I can sense. Overall, the shave was about on par with what I've experienced with 7 O'Clock blacks and Polsilver SI's, which are both excellent blades for me.
I might try it in one of my Slims on the next shave. I plan on using this blade until its unusable, which (at least according to others here), will be quite a long time.
