Beet her to it!
I got my SLOC in today, matches up with the slim vintage handle it looks really sharp. The vintage handle reminds me a lot of the Gillette NEW handle. Very cool, perfect size!
My fist shave with the SLOC and I have a few things to say. So, two passes with the Henson++ with the grain and there is NOTHING left. Zero irritation, just a perfect shave. I did 2 passes with my SLOC and there was a lot of little patches here and there. I did the 3rd pass Against the grain, which is something I never do, but this thing is so mild that it wasn’t an issue. 3 passes, 1 with the grain and I’d have to say it’s a “dang good shave” it is very smooth, but not that porcelain feeling I get with the Henson.
I can see its potential because for the scrubber shavers out there it really does keep the top cap slicker.
I really liked it. If it were just a bit more efficient it would be my daily. For under $20 bucks it really is a darn good razor I think many can use for many many years with zero trouble. It’s very hard to get in trouble with this razor and it did a very good job on my first go. Maybe playing around with different blades and technique will really make it pop.
I wasn’t impressed with the Razor rock synthetic brush. I was hard to build a lather and when it did it was not as thick and creamy as my Simpson Duke 3. But for $15 bucks, it DID do the job. It don’t lose any hair, and who knows, maybe after a few uses I might be able to really work with it. I’ll report back in a month or two if anyone cares lol. It’s $14 bucks..
Over all, my Henson is still king of this castle but I just picked up a Blackbird Ti from a member in the market place so… I can’t wait to try it out!
