Razor Rock SLOC & vintage handle & Synthetic brush

Beet her to it!
I got my SLOC in today, matches up with the slim vintage handle it looks really sharp. The vintage handle reminds me a lot of the Gillette NEW handle. Very cool, perfect size!

My fist shave with the SLOC and I have a few things to say. So, two passes with the Henson++ with the grain and there is NOTHING left. Zero irritation, just a perfect shave. I did 2 passes with my SLOC and there was a lot of little patches here and there. I did the 3rd pass Against the grain, which is something I never do, but this thing is so mild that it wasn’t an issue. 3 passes, 1 with the grain and I’d have to say it’s a “dang good shave” it is very smooth, but not that porcelain feeling I get with the Henson.

I can see its potential because for the scrubber shavers out there it really does keep the top cap slicker.

I really liked it. If it were just a bit more efficient it would be my daily. For under $20 bucks it really is a darn good razor I think many can use for many many years with zero trouble. It’s very hard to get in trouble with this razor and it did a very good job on my first go. Maybe playing around with different blades and technique will really make it pop.

I wasn’t impressed with the Razor rock synthetic brush. I was hard to build a lather and when it did it was not as thick and creamy as my Simpson Duke 3. But for $15 bucks, it DID do the job. It don’t lose any hair, and who knows, maybe after a few uses I might be able to really work with it. I’ll report back in a month or two if anyone cares lol. It’s $14 bucks.. 🤷

Over all, my Henson is still king of this castle but I just picked up a Blackbird Ti from a member in the market place so… I can’t wait to try it out!

Hi, I can share the same opinion as yours, shame that it's so mild. I'm 3 4 day shaver and like razors as aggressive as it gets.. Prefer mühle r41gs and fatip, 2 passes with r41 equal 4 with the SLOC and its still not so close.. I like the idea behind it cuz i thinks it works at least for me, but thats not my shaving technique (back and forth with the razor). Would like a shot with the Blackbird though :c9: That thing looks amazing.. Cheers and happy shaving

Quick update on the Razor Rock Synthetic brush.. I’m really liking it now. Not one strand of hair has fallen, and it’s very comfortable. I’m liking it more and more. Very good brush for $13 bucks. Man, this brush and the sloc with a SS handle for less than $30 bucks you’re all set for many many many years. Not bad at all.

The RR vintage slim handle is my favorite handle. It reminded me as well of the Gillette New handle. I switched out the handles on my Lupos for vintage slims. Overall balance and feel is much more to my taste now.

I really like my SLOC and highly recommend it. However, I do think that a vintage Gillette new or a Game Changer .68 OC are better razors because they are more efficient and made with better materials. The SLOC is just cheaper, easier to find, safer, and will give you just as good as a shave. I'd tell a first timer to get the SLOC.

It's just like a tech in that for every person that says it's too mild there's another who says it's perfect once you learn how to use it to its upmost.
