LIST *ALL* YOUR D.E. RAZORS!

I only had the one DE, the Merkur Futur for ~2 years until I found this place. Then I went a bit nutty with acquisition, but it's now stopped. I rotate through them approximately once per month (February's is the Tatara Masamune):

Merkur Futur
QShave Merkur Futur Clone
Weishi Nostalgic 2.0
Rockwell 6C
Karve CB Brass
Tatara Masamune
Tatara Masamune Nodachi

This is a partial list, but this is most of my DEs.

I moved a few months back and I couldn't find 4 or 5 (rarely used) vintage Gillette razors that I know I have. I'll have to search for them this weekend.

Most are great shavers. It takes some effort to keep my rotation at 7.

I just picked up the Rex Ambassador so It's been getting daily use this week. Prior to the Rex my 7 day rotation included the RR Wunderbar, RR Mamba .53, RR Jaws, Super Adj., Slim Birth Year, New Bar Handle, Old Type.

Nice! I'm working on paring down mine too! The select few, eh? 🌞😉😊🌞

I will never pare down!! YOU HEAR?! NEVER!! I will never surrender :hand:

Having been stuck in the home office for weeks I have had too much time to go jaywalking into the vintage razor world. During the last 3 months I’ve have:
  • Acquired a nice 1930 Gillette Chromium Deluxe set
  • Sold a gorgeous Gillette #77 New RFB set, silver razor in green case
  • Acquired an interesting Berkeley DE
  • Acquired a new Eclipse Red Ring set (sunburst topcap)
  • Sold my old Eclipse RR set (non-sunburst)
  • Acquired a beatup Gillette Popular #46 set
  • Sent the Popular to Cap Murphy and Chris Evatt for a full refurbishment
  • Acquired the coolest vintage bladebank in the world
  • Started a crazy project
  • Sent my Rotbart Mond-Extra off to Chris Evatt for a full nickel replate
  • Acquired a pre-war Tech (triangular slots)
  • Acquired 2 wonderful Kirby Beard sets
  • Resold one of the Kirbys again (don’t ask why)
  • Acquired a couple of rare blade banks and some blades for my sets (3 Darwins, 1 Eclipse)
  • Sold my superb nickel F4 Toggle
  • Acquired a wonderful 1960s Feather 1200 travel set
  • Acquired the fascinating unicorn Rotbart ‘Pineapple handle’ set
  • Put in an order for a Simpson Synthetic in faux sapphire
  • Acquired a new #66 set to swap the case with the one in my current set.
  • Resold the surplus #66 set this evening
  • ...Oh, forgot the inbound Mirabilia :stuart:
Fun times!

Awesome as ever, Dan!!! That Paradigm Diamondback could tempt me over to the dark side of modern razoring. Oh, incidentally - you sold and rebought any Hybrid Techs lately? :biggrin1:
Haha, Peter. The cupboard is currently bereft of a HT. But I’ll find another! Too great a challenge to ignore.

Roughly in order of purchase: 1) Van Der Hagen (obvious starter razor); 2) Edwin Jager 89; 3)Gillette 1960 Super Speed; 4) Merkur 15C; 5) 1910 Single Ring; 6) 1933 Ball End; 7) 1934 Aristocrat; and 8) 1915 Milady Decollete. Numbers 3 through 7 are in my rotation. I used the Milady (beautiful condition) 3 times and then retired it to its new looking case. Too flawless in condition to use regularly and the handle is too short for my taste. My strong preference is for open combs. I thought that I was finished buying razors, but then I got a good deal in March on the Milady, so who knows?
