What's new

if you had to choose for James Bond...

Edwin Jagger, made in England... Is there ANY other choice for an Englishman?

( Sir Sean Connery would use Castle Forbes S.C., its Scottish )

...which DE razor would you choose for him(the only James Bond I approve are Sean Connery and Roger Moore:wink:)?

Hmmm ... dunno. At the risk of hijacking the thread, I think that Connery, Tim Dalton & Daniel Craig all brought a nice edge to the Bond character.

So, that said -- yeah, it's gotta be something English/Scottish.

that depends,
i can see Connery shaving with a Fat Boy
i can see Moore shaving with a British Aristocrat
i can see Dalton shaving with an electric
i can see Brosnan shaving with a mach3/fusion,
and the one i see shaving with a straight is Craig, becuase hes the least witty and gadgety bond,

the other one i could see shaving with a straight is that australian model, i dont remember his name,

ha, yes, sorry about that, he was in only 1 bond film, right ?
personaly, i think he was better the dalton and just as good as moore,
and the only bond man enough to wear a kilt,

OHMSS,IMO is one of the best Bond films made.Peter Hunt followed Fleming's novel very closely and I've always liked this film and Lazenby's performance.Interestingly he was offered a six film deal but turned it down.:eek: BTW in Live and Let Die Roger Moore shaves with what looks like a Schick Injector.

I do like Craig as a new Bond. For too long Bond has been some sort of fluffy, wise cracking pretty boy who looks utterly ridiculous holding a gun. Craig has brought that darker, somewhat more sinister approach that fits a man who is, ultimately, an assassin. As for a razor for this character, I actually think he would be one to go with one of those nice M3 handles sold by the various english shaving houses.

There is one old bond movie where he shaves with a Gillette DE. I think the modern bonds (Brosnan, Craig) would also use whatever modern Gillette razor that's currently being sold, which would mean an M3 or Fusion.

I think he's using a slim in Goldfinger. I suppose that ansewers that.

Maybe the "Norelco 8892XL Spectra James Bond Shaving System"

Shamelessy lifted from another site:

James Bond -- When traveling, Bond carries a Gillette Adjustable (you can see it in the Goldfinger movie). Generally, though, Bond shaves with a cheap, Russian military issue straight razor which was once used on him by a SMERSH agent. Bond's face was the last thing he ever saw on this earth. When in London, he is often shaved at Taylor's of Grosvenor Street. The barbers at Blades, M's club, often shave him, as a courtesy to M. Taylor's and Blades are happy to hone his Russian razor for him, though they do urge him to replace it with a "finer instrument."

:biggrin::biggrin:

I just looked it up... lol! It's around the "Well *****, you know a lot more about planes than guns!" He had a micro transmitting device hidden in the Slim's base.

I gotta have me a slim (I'm a James Bond sucker:biggrin::eek::001_wub:)

Heck ya, he was one sua-vay dude! :biggrin:

Craig's Bond is a chav. Totally unlike the novel where he is suave and sophisticated from the outset. Jude Law is the vibe i get from the novels. For Craig: Super metrosexual electric or at best mac 3+++ or whatever product placement demands.

in 'James Bond in New York', (i think) he gets a DE of a brand i cant recall but read somewhere online.

My suggestions:
Truefitt & Hill C.A.R. Hair Cream (without oil);
Wilkinson Sword Sticky DE;
Any of the three T's shaving cream in a travel tube;
No Brush - i think he'd find this a tad too fey/dandy and time consuming - he'd probably just rub it on with his hand roughly though would enjoy a good barber's shave when in London on free time;
No aftershave or balm - just cold, brisk water;
Trumpers Eau De Portugal - nice and light, inoffensive for hot climates and sticky casinos; Floris 89; Blenheim Bouquet. Contrary to the popular idea that he uses Trumpers Eucris EDT, he does not. The Moonraker novel mentions that Drax, good sport that he is, leaves him a bottle of Eucris hairdressing, amongst other grooming requisites, to make him feel at home. The hairdressing smells totally unlike the EDT. The latter is more suited to a Bond villain.
