This one made me chuckle when I first heard it. Still makes me chuckle.

When they started playing this at football games I kept telling myself, "I've heard this before." My wife thought I was crazy, until I stumbled upon this (and yes, I listened to a lot of classical growing up):Not much activity in here....this was mine.
seems like a good approach to me. are those the rules we are playing by?Just a thought.
But maybe this could be like the "song/band" thread.

yes, well done! Aja is correcr. What I read, and it may have been speculative, is that these lyrics were essentially an invitation from Donald Fagen to Walter Becker, as the latter was getting deeper and deeper into injectible opiod abuse, to revisit the old days of psychedelic drug use for a night. To throw out the hardware of needles, syringes, spoons, tie off straps, in favor of tripping, of seeing a double helix in the sky, something like a batman symbol calling folks to expand their consciousness, to do it right. This seems like a brilliant, perfect fit for those lyrics to me. I really can't confirm their meaning apart from that.Beautiful song. Aja by Steely Dan. Interested to hear back story of lyrics.
That is a really good one! I could not get it and ended up Googling it, so I cannot play!Well, before I had read all previous posts, probably should have, which included very good idea of how to work this thread I posted lyrics-
Can’t keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit,
I think that is a great idea. I got this thread started so let's morph it into this idea that @brucered has.Just a thought.

Ulysses, CreamCan you pull this off without looking it up online? Post some lyrics from a song and let's see who can guess the song.
Let me get us started:
"Tiny purple fishes
Run laughing through your fingers..."
Easily one of the greatest guitar solos of all time, IMHO.
My mouth is filled with cotton and my brain is sore
I left last night's dinner on this morning's floor
My belly is swollen and my eyeballs shrunk
I drank so much that my hair got drunk
I know that one. Timothy Leary by the Moody BluesHe'll take you up, he'll bring you down
He'll plant your feet back firmly on the ground
He flies so high, he swoops so low
He knows exactly which way he's gonna go
