Great shave today, one of the best!

Hi guys, had a great shave today and just thought i'd share. Been getting good shaves recently but today something just clicked.

I used TOBS Mr Taylors shave cream and finished the shave off with Trumpers Sandalwood Skinfood. Something about this combination worked so well for me and they both smell amazing.

I did a W-E pass first, then E-W second followed finally with a N-S. All passes were in the same direction above and below the jaw.

I used to split the passes up so for instance my first pass used to be N-S above the jaw and S-N below the jaw. I think maybe the fact that the passes were a lot simpler today let me enjoy the shave rather than spend too much time thinking about it.

Anyway very impressed with today's shave and i'm really looking forward to shaving again. I think its a coincidence that it was the first time I used the Mr Taylors but boy is it a great cream. I have used the TOBS Avocado which so many people here love but it wasn't for me, not a fan. I have tried samples now of T&H1805 cream, TOBS Eton College, St James, Jermyn St and Mr Taylors as well as Trumpers Rose, Violet and GFT. I have only mentioned the creams I have liked, I have tried many many more that I didnt like so much.

It's great that such a simple luxury product like shaving cream made by any of the 3 T's exist to make our days. I have been so flat out with work and life in general that it was just amazing to have a great shave. I just wanted to take some time out to write this down, just as a reminder to myself and for the others out there that sometimes we need to step away and smell the roses or in this case any of our favourite creams or soaps.

Congrats! Many more to come!

To Dunny and Luc, wow, check out your post counts. Don't remember them being so high. :w00t:

Followed the last shave up with another enjoyable DFS.

Merkur 38C, Derby, Windsor brush, TOBS Sandalwood and Sandalwood Skinfood (love this stuff)

I tried face lathering again today after about 6 months. Well I used to swear by bowl lathering but I think I am a changed man. There is something special about putting that brush up against my face and making lather that is really addictive. I also found that there was one less thing to wash up and it seemed quicker.
