Cella shave cream underperforming?

Hi I have been using cella red shaving cream for a while now and have found it to be great shave cream. Lately it has been under
Performing and not foaming up well. I suspect it could be my well water so I have been boosting it with vegetable glycerin which does seem to help it. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

If you use "alum", that is a lather killer (can contaminate your brushes). Take your brush, anyway, and wash it well w water and shampoo.

Well water here. Hard as nails, with a water softener to boot. No issues what so ever. My first thought is to use more product. Good luck John 7

I don't have well water but my thought is to try loading more soap on your brush. Don't be shy, load it heavy!

I have water in my iron and calcium and both Cella red and green work great in the slop. More soap or a decadent gallon jug of filtered water will work

You can try getting distilled water or de-ionized water from the grocery store in gallon jugs. You really don't need much water just for making a lather.

Cella does not usually have any problems lathering.

I travel regularly around the USA and only take Cella Red due to it's ability to perform consistently despite the properties of local water. Of course I'll have to tweak soap/water ratios depending, but can always get a quality lather.

My one tip is to change the technique.

Put a little of the product, the cream or soap, into a wooden bowl or an old soup bowl perhaps, add about 1/3 fl oz of bottled water and spin the dickens out of the lather until all the bubbles have gone, it should look and feel like thick cream.
