Major Changes in Shaving Since 1960? 1970?

Back then you would be taught by a father or grandfather and there was no way of knowing if that person really knew what they were doing and what might work better and more comfortably
Didn't they emphasize WTG back then, and WTG meant a motion from upper cheek down to neck without really understanding that people's grain direction varies? IIRC, when I started that is what I used to hear.

Second, when I started around 2006 or so, the affordable go-to DE razor was the Merkur 34C. I think it was because of an individual that went on NBC's Today Show and recommended that to beginners. I think he had a blog called "shaveblog" or something of that sort.

For me learning in the late 60’s to 70’s, here’s the basics, stretch skin, don’t let it slide sideways. You learned quickly back then, who wants to wear tp on face?
WTG and ATG? It was common sense back then. You didn’t need someone to tell you about it, you just did it because you experimented And could see how your own hair grow.
