Great-Grandpa's Razors (help ID)

At first my family thought that my Great Grandpa's razors were gone since I am the first to use DEs since he (he passed away at 98 about 10 years ago). A couple weeks ago, by pure luck, my Mom was able to find his old shave kit.

I am very new to all this so I was wondering if some people could spare a few minutes to help ID and provide any other information they wish to share about them. My Mom is excited to hear about these as well (out of curiosity).

The first has no markings other than Gillette on the underside. Also the doors don't quite close correctly as you can see in the first picture, there is a very slight misalignment. Will that be an issue?

The second has Made in Canada and says it is Patented 1931 and 1932.

Thank you!

I'll let others with more experience chime in to help ID them, but that's great that you have his old DE's.

The first is a 40's style Super Speed and the second is a Gillette NEW. See the Super Speed and three piece links in my signature for more info. You fortunately have two of the best Gillettes ever made. The misfitting silo doors should be able to be fixed.

:D That is awesome! I will check out your links Guido. Thank you. (also, any idea how I should go about fixing the doors?)

It is most likely that you have a bent safety bar. Can you take a picture of the head from both sides and the ends and post? Another possibility is a loose retaining screw in the base. That is much less likely, though.
