Giving my old razor to a friend

I'm thinking of giving my old cheap DE razor to a friend. Is it best if I soak in it an antiseptic just be to be safe before he uses it?

It originally cost me about $25 Australian and it has the doors that open and close on the blade. I used it before I bought my current Merkur HD.

That's very kind of you Peter. Maybe you can also turn him towards B+B as a great place to learn about wet-shaving?
I would give the razor a soak in some Barbasol (or something similar) before you hand it over.

Depends on how many cooties you have.

Give it a swish in metho and it'll be right.

Hot water and a soak in any gentle cleanser should do.

I'd give it a soak in Borax and hot water. It should be good to go.

Give it a once over with an old toothbrush to clean any soap residue. A 5 minute soak in 1 part bleach, 9 parts water will take care of any pathogens. Then give a quick rinse and your good to go.

After all this the guy says he doesn't want it. He reckons he's already got one although he can't find where he's put it.
