Gibbs weird plating

Hello gents,

So I bought a Gibbs adjustable (yes, another one).
I don’t think it has ever been used, it looks new to me. The curious thing about this specific one is the quality of the plating. I have never seen such an awkward job on a Gibbs (and I own other 13). It looks unfinished or done in a rush. Everything fits perfectly, no issues. Just the plating looks funny. I have no clue if it has been done on purpose to give it more of an industrial look (I don’t think so) but it’s quite intriguing. I wish I could have some sort of indication about the year of production.
Did you ever come across a similar finish?

It doesn’t bother me at all, quite the opposite… I’m happy I have it, even a miss it’s part of a razor’s history.

Perhaps it's replated, brush plated, making the swirls?
