GFT Sandalwood!!!!

Whoa!!! I just recently received my sampler from Trumpers and have been slowly working through them. Received Coconut oil, Limes, GFT, and Sandalwood shaving creams in the sampler. Didn't care for GFT, definitely liked the Coconut Oil and Limes, but WOW!!!! I lathered up with the Sandalwood after my shower this evening, and it was amazing!! That scent is soooo gooood!!! I've smelled several sandalwoods before but this by far is the best! It just seemed to explode and blossom as it was lathered and just got better and better. It shaved really well too despite a new and unfamiliar (to me) blade. (Lord Super Chrome) All I can say is I hope I get some of this for my birthday!! amazing...

Heh, that's funny. I shaved with the same cream tonight, followed by some sandalwood Skinfood. Seems to me there's a bit of ginger in their sandalwood, especially the Skinfood. I'm a big fan of that scent...cream's performance isn't too shabby, either.

I'm a fan of the GFT sandalwood too. Not too long ago I was a sandalwood purist and disliked a lot of the sandal fragrances that companies gave their soaps and creams, but I've grown less fussy over time and I have to say I enjoy GFT's sandal cream and soap. The cream in particular has a drier, more mature sandal scent to it. It also has a subtle smokiness which I like. It's more restrained than the smoke note in C&E sandalwood, and GFT balances it nicely with spice and florals.

I liked most of the other other GFT creams, but I had trouble smelling anything out of the Sandalwood sample I got. It might have just been a bad batch for the sample though. But everything besides the scent is suburb.

All GFT creams are great! The sandalwood scent is pretty good too. I think its a pretty babershoppy scent.

I got a tube of the GFT Sandalwood a few weeks ago and love the scent. I have yet to try any of the other GFT creams, but am quite intrigued, especially after the great lather I get from the Sandalwood..

Same with me. I just got my sample set today and was sniffing through everything and letting my mom have a whiff too. We can only pick up the slightest hint of sandalwood. Might be different once I lathered it up and shave with it though. Now I need to get some almond ice-cream.....

I wish Trumper would get their sandalwood scents straightened out. The shaving soap, cream and Skin Food all have different scents. The cream and the soap are each unique, whereas the Skin Food is the same scent as the Sandalwood cologne. It makes it a bit frustrating if one is trying to scent layer. They do complement each other, but I have found using either the shaving soap or the cream alters the scent of the Skin Food. Personally, I would love it if they would put out a cream with the same scent as the cologne.

I also just received my sample kit from Trumpers and can't wait to try the Sandalwood. Are the samples good for just one shave or can you squeeze another out?

Good to hear that you like it. I picked up a tube of the cream whilst in London for a quick visit last month but as yet it is still unopened.
