Favorite recepticle to build lather

I am looking to pick u a cup, bowl, scuttle something to build my lathers in. Open to your favorites suggestions. Where you bought it and how much. Pics would be great as well. Thanks

Bryan

It's winter so I am into scuttle mode now (brush and lather scuttles).

Once the weather warms up I go back to my stainless steel bowls

Here are some older posts about both my scuttles and bowls

I have this one, it was $1.25 from walmart. I scored vertical and horizontal lines in it with a kitchen knife and it works good. The feet on the bottom allow you to hold it nicely. I got the lime green color.

In the linked thread (not sure on the policy of necroposting), some folks were talking about wishing they could find a black one... I'd try your local restaurant supply place.

I have a 2-piece scuttle. I think it offers the best of both worlds. I can hold the lather bowl portion in my hand if I wish, for making lather before heating or for using it w/out the hot water. Or I can use it sitting on the sink.

Awesome mug, very wide providing adequate room to lather, handle is large and the mug itself is very light. And it's a silly looking monkey.

$10.00 at Pier 1 Imports

A salsa bowl like others here, mine's in black. It fits nicely in the hand, it's cheap (around $1.50 if I recall) , it sits securely on the counter and you're never going to break this thing no matter how many times you might drop it. I got mine at Walmart which also has other colors. I've also seen them at K-Mart.

Yep, I have this one, It was $1.25 at my WalMart. They had black, yellow and green . So I went crazy and got the green one. I took a pairing knife and scored it vertically and horizontally all the way around to give some texture for the lather. Hey if you mess it up or want another color it's less than $2

I picked up this wooden bowl on recommendation from another thread, and I've definitely been happy with it. It's a good size for a shaving bowl, nicely rounded, and the raised base is good for gripping it. Not quite as cheap as the salsa bowl, but it's still only ~$5 for a pretty nice wooden bowl.

I have the infamous Wal-Mart $1.28 salsa bowl in black that I have been using. I will continue to use it in the warm months. I just got a Georgetown Pottery G20 scuttle. I have shaved with it twice and you just have to love the warm lather. I gotta say I am loving the G20.

Well I went with the $1.28 salsa bowl from Walmart for now just because it was readily accessible and cheap. I would like to find something with some character and maybe even try a scuttle sometime. I will keep searching.
