Favorite holiday drink(s)

What is your favorite holiday drink? (please include how to make it too. I need ideas for this Christmas)

One of my favorites is brandy slush. Our family has it every Christmas.

Ingredients

* 7 cups water & 2 cups sugar - boil & cool
* 2 cups water & 4 bags of tea - boil & cool
* 1 12 oz. can lemonade
* 1 12 oz can orange juice
* 2 cups brandy

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients, put in container & freeze.
2. Keep in freezer, stir before using.
3. Use half glass of slush & mix in either 50/50, 7up or Coke.

A hot Irish coffee :tongue_sm, it's snowing since yesterday :thumbup:

Hot coffee, whiskey, sugar and liquid cream.

Not a drink, but my favorite for Christmas is an really old Grande Champagne cognac, at least 30 years old, from a good producer like Delamain, Ragnaud Sabourin or Frapin.

And a Vintage Blanc de Noirs champagne from Ay, Verzenay or Bouzy always bring the smile to my womans face;)

Vintage Port wine (and maybe adding a good piece of cheese as well).

Good thread, this makes me want a glass right now :001_smile
It's not going to be a vintage, but a reserve (and the time here is 16:41)

Could'nt resist, I made some and share it with you :001_smile

A hot toddy on a cold, blustery day. I make mine with Whiskey (Brandy if you like), orange instead of lemon, and a touch of Godiva chocolate liqeuer in place of sugar, scalding hot water.

Momma's from-scratch eggnog, with bourbon, sour mash, or rum (usually Jack Daniel's or Gentleman Jack).

Also, on really cold nights, cask strength Laphroaig with a little water. :thumbup1:

Had my first rum (black seal) & eggnog last night while decorating the tree.

A favorite is wassail. I don't have the recipe off hand, but it involves: ale, cream sherry, citrus, spices and sugar. It's good stuff.

My vote goes for the Black Seal rum with eggnog and a bit of nutmeg or cinnamon on top. When I was a kid, my dad would let us have one glass of eggnog with rum on Christmas Eve. (It was more like a drop of rum, but when you're a kid it's still a big deal.) Brings me back to those days every time I have one.

My favorite Christmas cocktail is the same as my everyday favoirte:
The Manhattan, easy vermouth, no bitters.
Very sweet nectar, my friends.

I usually stick to Manhattans or Scotch, but try this one that my friends showed me... It sounds odd, but really is amazing.

1.5-2 oz dark rum (we used Mount Gay)
~1 oz pomegranete liqour
~0.5-0.75 oz simple syrup
1 chai tea bag

Nothing is measured exactly, but Plan somewhere around 2-1-1 rum to pomegranete to syrup. Pour the rum into the serving glass, and let the chai tea bag steep in the rum for around 5 to 7 minutes. Pull the tea bag, add ice, pomegranete liqour, and syrup, and shake or stir. Can be served on the rocks or neat.

Sounds odd, and it is something that I would have never thought of, but it truly is fantastic. It's also fun to experiment with different brands of chai tea bags, as it really predominates the flavor profile. It is a fantastic thing on a cold night.

EDIT: changed the type of rum... we had talked about using spiced rum last time, but usually just use dark.

Jameson's and Coffee, Jameson's and Bailey's, or Jameson's and Ice. I just got a few bottles of Jameson's, so I'm on a bit of a kick right now.:001_smile

+1 I forgot about that one. I always have a Baily's and coffee after Christmas dinner (sometimes a little Jameson in it).
